Fun News! I just found out that Jo Ann Manolis Photography has been featured as an editor’s pick on Kirtsy.com. If you haven’t heard of Kirtsy.com, you’re in for a real treat…Kirtsy.com features news stories and other cool things in the form of small blurbs and links to blogs, websites, and newspaper articles covering just about anything from world news and politics to fashion to parenting information. January is here (halfway over actually), my month off with family was more than wonderful. We actually had time to catch our breaths a little, which always feels so good. I miss the liveliness of large gatherings, late nights, and big dinners. I miss hearing Greek on a regular basis, my many cousins, and waiting around for snow. I miss Skyway Drive-In. I barely took any photos…gave my eyes a break, I guess. That and lived in the moment, which also felt good. But it’s here, January (it’s actually half way over, which seems so strange to me). Time to get back on my bike, back to work, and yes, time to start blogging again…
My first photo shoot of 2009 took place last Sunday. Our dear friends at Peek…Aren’t You Curious? needed some fresh images of their spring clothing line. I love their approach to photo shoots. They love it when the kids get dirty and wet. They always ask for shots of them having fun, just being kids. It is refreshing to say the least. I’m not sure if these were necessarily my favorite images from the day, but each one resonated with me for one reason or another. Thoughts??
One of the perks of my job is that I can bring my child along on shoots like these. The other children didn’t seem to mind.
I’m pretty sure that my heaven will include a tree swing.
