Circuit Training with Abigail

My beautiful friend Abigail needed some portraits for her Facebook page. She is a fitness professional and leads the most killer circuit training workout on Saturday mornings (and lucky me…it takes place within walking/hobbling distance from my house!)

This workout is so much fun (the hour flew by), takes place outdoors in a beautiful setting, and is tough (I was sore the next day….hence the hobbling home part). And it goes without saying that Abigail is awesome…sweet and kind but will lead you through a great workout. If you live in the Santa Cruz area, you should definitely join us…I will be there trying to shed some of my baby weight. Click HERE to “like” her page and see her schedule of fitness classes.

7 months

Our sweet baby was born 7 months ago today. They both look stunned that we’ve survived the last seven months. I am stunned by this as well. We’ve done alright.

Santa Cruz Click Chicks

I finally have an image ready for the Santa Cruz Click Chick’s project 52. I’ll be trying my hardest to contribute regularly from now on. I love the idea of shooting my own interpretation of a weekly theme…just for fun. I’m also excited about becoming more active in the group and connecting with other local photographers.

Check out SCCC’s blog HERE. Have a lovely week!

my updated website

At long last, I’ve updated my website!

If I’ve photographed you in any capacity within the last year or two, there is a good chance that you will find yourself gracing it somewhere. I’m especially excited about the new commercial portfolio.

An enormous Thank You to everyone who has encouraged me as I started down this path…to my amazing clients for allowing me the privilege of photographing you and your children; to my friends for telling me over and over that I was cut out for this photography thing; and to my family…for seeing the same dream that I saw, welcoming the sacrifice that it entailed, and reminding me over and over that it’s worth it.

I’m grateful.

More updates are on the way…some amazing weddings and shoots are in store this year!

I wish you all a wonderful week. We have lots of rain in the forecast here in Santa Cruz…and Pat just whipped up a huge pot of soup. We’ll be staying warm and dry…and dreaming of spring.

just one last baby photo (maybe)

I know, I know. Maternity leave is over and I should be posting new shoots and not more baby photos…but this was too adorable to pass up. Solid foods are a hit with sweet potatoes in first place and zucchini closing in fast. He can’t get enough as you can see. The bib? “Not only am I cute, I’m Greek too!” Not sure if it gets cornier than that.

My camera is about to go into shock, learning that there is indeed still a world outside of our four walls.

Have a wonderful weekend!

another one gone…

My heart is breaking, one tooth at a time…

These tiny little steps of growth and confidence are so amazing to watch.

Also…as of today, my maternity leave is officially over. Within the next few weeks I will be shooting engagement and portrait sessions, preparing for some awesome weddings this summer, and finishing up some albums. It is nice and very exciting to officially be back.

it’s that time again…

Every year, our otherwise healthy household falls off the wagon. Big time. Yes, those would be Samoas you see on my son’s eyes. Pat says that they’re not that great and that I’d pass them by in the grocery store without batting an eye if they were available all year long. I beg to differ, I think. Either way, I’m grateful that they only rear their ugly heads once a year.

I’m thinking a vegetable cleanse may be in our imminent future…

6 months

Our baby turned six months young today…well it is now past midnight so I guess his birthday was yesterday but you get the picture.  He and I celebrated today with a nap and then we all celebrated after dinner with red velvet cupcakes. No I did not bake them, Trader Joe’s did. They were delicious by the way. Baby enjoyed his sweet potatoes so much that he had seconds. 6 months feels like a huge milestone to our family. So much has happened but I’m not sure where the time went. I guess it crept away in between naps or something because I feel like I was just in the hospital yesterday sleeping with him on my chest and wondering if he’d ever open his eyes. I love everything about having him and we are all so in love. He has the best smile and the most hilarious chuckle. He has a few wisps of hair that are holding on for dear life…and blue eyes. I never thought I’d ever have a blue-eyed baby. He loves the baby jogger and looks around happily, then dozes off while I run. He is fully embracing solid foods…avocados and sweet potatoes have both been given the thumbs up with whooping and shrieking in between bites. The house is constantly a mess but nobody cares. He has the chubbiest thighs I’ve ever seen. He is (and I hate to even write this as I fear that I’ll jinx myself) an awesome sleeper. He hates being on his stomach. He loves his older brother more than anyone, I think. I get to watch him grow and discover life. I’m so lucky.

Happy 6 months baby E, we’d be lost without you!
